Hours of Graduate Level Credit through Morningside College
This course will take
an in-depth look at how to challenge students/athletes by creating a motivating
environment in the classroom and on the playing field. Course material
will focus on leadership styles, goal-setting guidelines, performance
feedback, teacher-coach-parent relationships, communication with students/athletes
and mental training techniques designed to help individuals achieve peak
performance.
Discussions will also include the “other things” that teachers
and coaches deal with daily that are rarely mentioned in other graduate
level classes. Class activities will involve guest speakers, group
discussions in which students are encouraged to share their own personal
experiences, as well as videotapes featuring some of the top speakers
in the nation on mental training and teaching/coaching excellence.
By the end of this unique course each participant will leave feeling revitalized,
better prepared to deal with the common problems that teachers and coaches
face, and return home with a wide variety of new ideas and tools to help
improve their teaching/coaching skills. This class is a must for teachers
and coaches at all levels!!!

This course is designed
to give professionals knowledge and skills that will make a real difference
in helping students/athletes reach their fullest potential. The
focus of this class will be on developing leadership skills and the key
attitudes and actions that educators must strive for in order to impact
the lives of those around them.
This class will provide “practical” insight and guidance on
how to become a more effective leader so that today's youth will be motivated
to learn, excel, and sustain high levels of performance in all facets
of life. Class
activities will include group discussions, ways to develop character in
today's youth, guest speakers, team building activities, and time to reflect
and examine one's effectiveness as a leader.
Students will also be given the opportunity to view videotapes about mental
training, leadership, and teaching/coaching excellence featuring some
of the top speakers in the nation. This powerful course will help educators,
administrators, and coaches at all levels to inspire, guide and teach
today's youth to be the best they can be!

This powerful, results-oriented course provides a fresh and stimulating
opportunity for teachers to acquire a wealth of practical ideas,
tips and strategies that will boost student achievement and motivation
in all subject areas. Classroom teachers, administrators and coaches
will be introduced to techniques supported by current learning theories
that are applicable in both a classroom or coaching setting,
thereby enabling them to create a more positive learning environment,
build positive student relationships, and give students a
solid foundation for lifelong learning. The course provides teachers,
administrators and coaches with a renewed professional focus, a personalized
action plan for success, and enthusiasm for leading today's youth.
